Privacy Policy

At l10n.dev, we are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data. By using our service, you agree to the terms outlined in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

  • Personal Information: When you sign up or log in using a third-party OAuth service, we collect your email address, name, and avatar provided by the OAuth provider. Alternatively, if you register using our registration form, we collect your email address, name, and password. The registration process is managed through AWS Cognito, which securely handles and stores your credentials.
  • Translation Files: We collect and store the files you upload for translation. These files are processed by our AI translation service.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To provide and improve our translation and localization services.
  • To personalize your experience, such as displaying your avatar.
  • To communicate with you regarding your account or service updates.
  • To ensure compliance with our Terms of Service.

3. User Rights

You have the following rights regarding your data:

  • Access: You can view your uploaded translation files and associated data through the user interface.
  • Download: You can download your translation files at any time through the user interface.
  • Deletion: You can delete your translation files at any time through the user interface. Once deleted, the files are permanently removed from our systems.

4. Data Retention

We retain your personal information and translation files for as long as necessary to provide our services or as required by law. Deleted files are permanently removed and cannot be recovered.

If there is no payment for the service or no active paid subscription, we reserve the right to automatically delete your translation files after 90 days. This ensures efficient use of our resources and compliance with our data retention policies.

5. Third-Party Services

We use third-party services to facilitate account creation, login, secure data management, and service delivery:

  • OAuth Providers: These providers share your email, name, and avatar with us. Please refer to their privacy policies for more information on how they handle your data.
  • AWS Cognito: This service manages the registration and authentication process for users who sign up using their email, name, and password. AWS Cognito securely stores and processes your credentials. Please refer to AWS Cognito's privacy policy for more details.
  • Azure Services: We use Azure services to support various aspects of our platform, including data storage, processing, and infrastructure management. Azure is responsible for protecting the global infrastructure that runs its cloud services. For more information, see the Azure Trusted Cloud.

The shared responsibility model applies to both AWS and Azure services. While these providers are responsible for securing their global infrastructure, we are responsible for maintaining control over the content hosted on their infrastructure, including security configuration and management tasks.

5. Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to collect information about how users interact with our platform. This includes data such as pages visited, time spent on the site, and user behavior. Google Analytics helps us improve our services by analyzing user activity and preferences.

Google Analytics uses cookies to track user activity. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

For more information on how Google handles your data, please refer to the Google Privacy Policy.

6. GDPR Compliance

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). These rights include:

  • Right to Access: You can request access to the personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to Rectification: You can request corrections to any inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Right to Erasure: You can request the deletion of your personal data, subject to legal or contractual obligations.

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, disclosure, or loss. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
